We don't charge a membership fee. We ask that members do what they can for the society. Perhaps you can open your home to foster a springer, do phone interviews with potential adoptors, transport a dog from a shelter to its foster home or fundraise by having a garage sale.

Please note that membership is restricted to those 19 years of age and older.

English Springer Rescue Association of Canada
Code of Conduct  

**The following Code of Conduct is to be used by the directors and members at all times when carrying out the Society's work. The order in which they occur does not indicate priority.

As a member of English Springer Rescue Association of Canada (ESRAC), I vow to perform all rescue-related activities in a manner following this Code of Conduct:

1) I will treat other ESRAC members with dignity and respect, and act in a professional manner, when doing the Society's work.

2) My rescue activities will be performed on a voluntary basis without any personal compensation (gifts or monetary).

3) My activities for ESRAC will be performed according to the policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by the society.

4) I will not use or promote any intact ESS rescue candidate for breeding purposes.

5) I will provide sanitary conditions, quality food, clean water, and indoor shelter for rescue springers in my care.

6) I will seek veterinary care for rescue springers in my care and following ESRAC's policies.

7) I will keep detailed veterinary records for each springer in my care and will make these records available immediately to the adopter and to ESRAC upon the animal's adoption.

8) I will make every effort to thoroughly assess each springer's behaviour in my care and will disclose all observations to potential adoptors to assure suitability for placement.

9) I will make the necessary arrangements for any rescued springers in my care to be euthanized if health conditions or behaviours cannot be rehabilitated.

10) I will keep the information, from prospective adoptors' applications, confidential.

11) I will arrange for the sterilization of all rescue springers prior to adoption.

12) Adoption fees must be received in full at the time of adoption and submitted in full with proper documentation to the Treasurer.

13) I will return phone calls and reply to emails regarding springers in a timely manner. If I am unable to respond promptly, I will make alternative provisions to have calls/emails handled by another member.

14) I will respect the privacy of all emails to the ESRAC members' list and will not cross-post, forward, or otherwise share the content of these emails with anyone outside of ESRAC without the consent of the author(s).

15) Any ESRAC documentation/information/artwork may not be reproduced without prior permission from the Board.

16) Failure to comply will result in an oral reprimand, followed by a written reprimand, followed by termination of association with the ESRAC.

I understand that failure to adhere to the policies and procedures of ESRAC will be grounds
for immediate termination of membership from the society.
