Holly
Nanaimo BC
2008-008BC
Age: 6-9 years
Gender: Female spayed
Color: Liver/white
Weight: 42#
Variety: Field bred
We were asked to help Holly after she was part of a cruelty investigation. What a lovely girl she is!! She's in good health after having an absess removed. She was recently groomed and looking top-notch gorgeous.
She is good with other dogs and has clear dog language. Her sight and hearing is good and she has no problem hearing when the treat jar is open. She loves people and needs to find a forever home to rest her lovely head.
As she is on Vancouver Island until May 10, we would like to interview people and give them an opportunity to meet Holly before she has a boat ride to the Mainland.
For more information about Holly, please contact Holly's Agent.

Mister Darcy
Delta BC
2007-011BC
Special Needs

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male neutered
Color: Black/white
Weight: 46#
Variety: Bench bred
Mister Darcy is truly an excellent dog and yet there has been no interest. We wonder why? he's not old... just experienced. He doesn't require intensive care... very easy to have around, making fun and being silly. He causes no problems...he is stellar with other animals; a black and white diplomat on saint level. So he doesn't play like other dogs... his job is as a companion and he does it with generousity and class.
He's a very special dog. His exercise must be managed... he can't run a marathon. He will need medications for his quality of life... and they are very inexpensive. But these are such small things because, when he sings at your arrival, you know that you are his best friend.
He will only be placed in a Lower Mainland home.

Dolly
Southern Ontario
2007-014ON
SPECIAL NEEDS

Age: 2.5 yo
Gender: Female, spayed
Color: Liver/white
Weight: 30#
Variety: Bench bred
Dolly has a wonderful personality, is gentle and a total cuddle bug. She is great
with other dogs and lives with 3 other foster dogs, as well as 2 cats. She
is fine with the cats, but will happily play chase if allowed.
She loves her walks and is gentle on the leash, and knows her commands. She
will come, sit, stay, heel, wait and many others we are still learning
about. She is great with kids, but due to her health concern, she will not
be placed in a home with young children.
Dolly has a medical condition called megaesophagus which means that her
esophagus is larger than normal and if she eats too much or too quickly, she
will tend to vomit up her food. Due to this, she is fed 3 - 4 small
meals a day, with a period of rest after each meal. At present, Dolly is doing extremely well and has gained 3# with little or no vomiting. The medication is very reasonably priced and the vet feels that
she will be managed quite well the feeding schedule and the medication.
I would suggest you check online for information on this condition, as in
some dogs, if the condition deteriorates, it may mean a surgical procedure.
I stress though that she is a perfectly little girl in every other way, and
is a total joy to have in our home.
For more information about this wonderful little girl, please contact Dolly's Agent.

Zak
Medicine Hat AB
2008-005AB
Age: 3 years
Gender: Male Neutered
Color: Black/white
Weight: 52#
Variety: Field bred
Zak has been assessed professionally and we can report that he is a fun-loving, playful boy with bounds of energy to play tag with other dogs. He DOES compete for food and toys so he may do best as an only dog.
At this time, we know that he's exceptionally trained in obedience and field work. He will need an active, thinking job and a boss who is fair, consistent and pays well with positive reinforcement. Only someone with proven dog experience will be considered.
For more information about Zak, please contact Zak's Agent.

Joey
Metro Vancouver BC
Complimentary Post
Age: 5 years
Gender: Male Neutered
Color: Black/white
Weight: 65#
Variety: Bench bred
ESRAC is listing Joey because, due a change in circumstances, Joey needs a new home.
We assessed Joey and found him to be a typical springer who is fun!, silly with behaviours and just plain handsome. We observed him around several dogs and he has good dog manners. He loves his food and is a bit hefty so reduced food and increased exercise will help Joey lose weight to protect his joints.
His eyes are bright and clear; ears are clean and he has no known medical conditions. He is up to date on vaccinations. He is reported to be good at the groomers; has lived with a cat and young toddlers. Loves car rides and being part of the family.
Joey is extremely obedient and bonded to his owner. There will be a honeymoon period while he learns a new routine and identifies new surroundings and people. While he was being fed a new diet of raw food, he bit the person in eagerness.
A donation, to a charity that the owner specifies, is expected.

Age: 3 yo
Gender: Male neutered
Color: Black & White
Weight: 65#
Variety: Bench
Hello ... my name is Moose. I am a big, strong active boy with very handsome features! I like to play and I am more than happy to be your jogging partner. But, even for a big guy, I can be a real cuddle bug.
I currently live with two other small dogs. I would prefer to be an only dog; or, perhaps live with a female dog. I like my treats and toys; but, I can be a little protective of them.
If you would like to learn more about me, please contact my agent.

Mallory
Barrie, Ontario
Setter Sanctuary
Complimentary Post
Age: 6 yo
Gender: Female
Color: Liver and white Tri
Weight: 50#
Variety: Setter x Springer
This beautiful girl is as sweet as they come. She's well mannered, extremely loving
towards people and great with other animals including a sweet curiosity about the
household cats. She likes to play ball and enjoys going for a walk. She asks to go
out to the bathroom and will wait at the back door politely waiting to be asked
before coming through the back door. She is a quiet dog who will attach quickly to
her new family as she is always looking over her shoulder to make sure she hasn't
been abandoned again. She is easy to groom including having her nails clipped. She
is a quiet girl and she even knows some commands (she comes immediately when
called), She is crate trained. She is very affectionate and likes to put her head on
your knee to look up lovingly into your eyes. Mallory came to us as a stray from the
shelter. They were compelled to save her because of her wonderful personality. She
has been used for breeding but those days will be over soon once she has been
spayed. Unfortunately she has a mammary mass and needs some bloodwork to make sure
she doesn't have any other complications. She looks to be a healthy girl so we are
hoping for a good outcome.
